Drudge promotes Kagan attack from Rabbi who blames gays for 9/11, Katrina, and the Haiti earthquake

After their wide-ranging attacks on Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan have fallen flat, the right-wing media has officially hit the bottom of the barrel.

Matt Drudge is currently promoting the following link on his homepage:

The headline links to a CNS News article quoting Rabbi Yehuda Levin of the Rabbinical Alliance of America attacking Kagan for turning “traditional Judaism on its head” because she supposedly wants to “homosexualize every segment of society.”

Who is Rabbi Yehuda Levin?

Here he is discussing how allowing gays to serve openly in the military could cause natural disasters. He also claims the “sodomy agenda” caused 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, and the earthquake in Haiti:

The Advocate reported in 1997 that Levin sued the Museum of Jewish Heritage -- A Living Memorial to the Holocaust because it mentioned that gays and lesbians were persecuted by the Nazis.

According to an NPR report, in 2006, Levin joined with fundamentalist Muslims to oppose a gay pride festival in Jerusalem because “This is not the homo land. This is the Holy Land. It's inappropriate here. Jerusalem is not a Greenwich Village, huge gay bar. It's Jerusalem, the Holy City.”

It says a lot about the desperation of conservative media outlets that they need to outsource their attacks on Elena Kagan to a raging bigot like Rabbi Yehuda Levin.

Sadly, this is just par for the course for CNS News, which is run by the blatantly homophobic Media Research Center and its founder, Brent Bozell.

UPDATE:

Levin is now touting the fact that he is at the top of the Drudge Report. Nice work mainstreaming this hateful bigot, Drudge.
