JOSÉ DÍAZ-BALART (HOST): And when there are only 57 days left until the presidential elections, the race continues to be very close on the national level although the surprise to many is that a state like Texas, which hasn't voted Democrat for president since 1976 for Jimmy Carter, is virtually tied between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. This at least according to one poll. This week, The Washington Post and SurveyMonkey revealed that in Texas, Clinton has 46 percent, Trump 45. To talk to us about this and more, we've invited Republican analyst  and  Fabian Nuñez, Democratic analyst. Both of you, thank you for being with us. I want to start with you, Adryana, this poll by SurveyMonkey showing that Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are virtually tied in Texas, a state that hasn't voted for a Democratic president since '76. What does that show, Adryana?

ADRIANNA BOYNE: Nothing is really changing really, because Texas is a conservative state and the important thing is to understand that often times the polls don't come from an objective point of view. What we're seeing here is that this is non-traditional campaign, a non-traditional election in which we are seeing there is a leadership now emerging from Mr. Donald Trump that isn't a typical Republican, but really in Texas what interests us is economic growth, national security, really, and the contrast that exists with Hillary Clinton, who is a liar, and that really has opposed us and she helped found the terrorism that comes from Iran. It's such large contrast. Texans really are not going to be able to support her, vote for a person who lacks transparency.

DÍAZ-BALART: Fabián, do you think this in Texas could start being repeated in other key states for Republicans?

FABIÁN NUÑEZ: Yes. No, it's a phenomenon that is being repeated in states like Utah, in states, for example, like Arizona, which have been states that have strongly rejected the tone against immigrants. And we are seeing that what has happened in this campaign is that Donald Trump, one hand has gained support from many Anglo-Saxon voters with his anti-immigrant, anti-Mexican, racist rhetoric, but with these same voters, many of them are questioning his attitude in terms of his temperament, and I think this is also hurting him in this campaign and we're seeing that Secretary Clinton has gone up in the polls in Republican states because many see her as a person, although she has very high negatives, they see her as a person who was the experience to be the president of this country.
