JOSÉ DÍAZ-BALART (CO-HOST): The contribution of immigrants to the U.S. economy is enormous. In 2014 alone, in California, immigrant business owners generated more than $20 billion in earnings for the state. According to research divulged today by a coalition that promotes the advantages of immigration reform, they highlighted that this year in Texas immigrants paid nearly $9 billion in state taxes and more than double that in federal taxes.
