From the July 13 edition of CNN's New Day:

JOHN AVLON: Yeah, I mean, Jackie [Kucinich] thinks it's Mike Pence, and there's a wisdom to that in terms of uniting the party. And you get someone who's a former radio show host --

JACKIE KUCINICH: Well, also, -- yeah, I was going to say also, he was in Congress.

AVLON: Yeah. So someone who's in Congress, someone who connects with the base. Look, [Chris] Christie and [Newt] Gingrich are much tighter with Donald Trump personally, and that kind of loyalty and chemistry probably matters more.

POPPY HARLOW (CO-HOST): He said he has better chemistry with them.

AVLON: Yeah.

CHRIS CUOMO (CO-HOST): Here's a bold suggestion. You know how we know that this -- if Trump wanted any of these guys, you know how you'd know? Because he would have picked them already. You know, this is not a man who allows a deliberate process to play out, and “let me hear from everybody, and let's be calculated.”

AVLON: He said that there are two that no one knows about. He said that this week.

CUOMO: I think if he had a guy that he wanted, he would have picked him already.

AVLON: He may have already picked him in private a long time ago. This is a reality TV show rollout, folks. Don't, don't, you know. The auditioning and the firing --

CUOMO: You think he's playing us?

AVLON: Oh, I think Donald, yes. I think Donald Trump's entire campaign is a reality TV show punking of the American people.
