Ingraham Slams Trump's Orlando Response: “This Is Not Your First Calling,” That's Real Estate

Laura Ingraham: “You Can't Do This In A Campaign, Where You The Second News Breaks You Kind Of Jump On It”

From the June 20 edition of Courtside Entertainment Group's The Laura Ingraham Show

LAURA INGRAHAM: Donald Trump, the terror watch list, meeting with the NRA. We're all off message here. We've got to understand what this terror watch list is. Of course, people like Stephen Hayes from Fox was on this no-fly list, which is different from a terror watch list, but he couldn't get off the no-fly list for a long time. And it's kind of -- the thing you don't want to do when you're in a campaign -- you can't do this in a campaign where you, the second news breaks you kind of jump on it. You're bound to make mistakes. This is not your first calling. Your first calling was real estate development. So, it's not. And that's ok. That's alright. There's nothing that requires you to respond immediately or in the first 48 hours of an attack. You're not president yet. You don't have to respond right away. You can have thoughts and prayers of the victims, and we have to be ever vigilant. That's enough. And then as things develop, you can maybe strategize with your team or talk to folks at the NRA or others who really know this issue. And say, here are some sensible reforms that will never erode our Second Amendment rights. And maybe give a speech on how to keep Americans safe without compromising individual liberty. I think that's a better way to go about it. Because then it gets all stuck in all of this -- it gets all stuck in all of this craziness. Then there's a debate on terror watch list. Then it's a no-fly list debate. Then the NRA is mad because you said people should have guns in clubs where there's alcohol. That was the other issue over the weekend. So you have Wayne LaPierre kind of criticizing Trump who he just endorsed. You can't do that. You cannot have that type of substantive chaos in your campaign.
