LESTER HOLT (HOST): And Trump is not only taking shots at the left by any means, but from many major members of his own party. Especially over his attacks on a federal judge, attacks that House Speaker Paul Ryan today called indefensible. Late this afternoon, a GOP senator said he's un-endorsing Trump. But the candidate isn't backing down, saying his attacks were, quote, misconstrued. NBC's Hallie Jackson has more. 

HALLIE JACKSON: An uprising, unprecedented, and how fast it's unfolded. Today, Illinois senator Mark Kirk in a tough election fight, the first Republican to take back his endorsement, hoping he's not the last.
