From the September 17 edition of Fox News' Special Report with Bret Baier:

BRET BAIER (HOST): Well this is all coming to a head now as the deadline is October 1. Conservatives saying they want to defund Planned Parenthood and they're using the spending operation in Congress to really back up against that. We're back with our throwback Thursday panel. Mort, what about this?

MORT KONDRACKE: Well look, if Planned Parenthood is truly profiteering on body parts, which is illegal, then they ought to be prosecuted and you don't need to defund them. Somebody will be in jail. But look, abortion is legal. And what are you going to do with body parts? Are you going to throw them in the garbage, or are you going to give them to medical research? And Planned Parenthood claims that it is not making money on this, but rather is giving it to -- at low cost -- to brokers who then go to medical research facilities. Now, it may be that the brokers are profiteering, in which case they ought to be prosecuted. But the idea that you're going to, over these videos, which by the way, do not show as Carly Fiorina said that there was a live fetus or people are talking about taking its brain away. It's not in the videos.

BAIER: Well it's described by a worker. It's not shown. The actual video that she's talking about.

KONDRACKE: Well she said that video--

BAIER: There is video on it, but it's not the exact same thing.

KONDRACKE: So look, I think it's crazy for the Republicans to shut the government down over something that deserves investigation, but is not resolved.

JEFFREY BIRNBAUM: I don't think the government is going to shut down over this. I think, though, that it will be very ugly in the meantime. There will be more brinksmanship. If the government is shut down, it would be terrible for the Republican Party in particular. It will hurt the establishment candidates for president who are trying to come up against the outsiders that are at the top of the polls. It would be very damaging and the ugliness in between could also damage the establishment.

[..]

BAIER: Those videos do show quite something. I mean, the 10 videos, it tells quite a tale.

KONDRACKE: Well, it's a disputed matter. Planned Parenthood says that they were doctored videos.
