Limbaugh Promotes Conspiracy That Carly Fiorina “Has Been Instructed To Take Trump Out” In Second Republican Debate

On the September 15 edition of his radio program, Rush Limbaugh floated the theory that 2016 Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina was included in the prime time CNN debate so she could “take out Trump,” speculating that “arrangements were made to get her on that eight o'clock stage.” He added that while “before the [first] debate, the word went out that it was the donors who had given all the other candidates strict orders to take Trump out and be done with this, well the story now is that it's Fiorina who has been given that assignment.”

On September 16, he repeated his theory that “Carly Fiorina has been instructed to take Trump out.”

From the September 16 edition of Premiere Radio Networks' Rush Limbaugh Show:

LIMBAUGH: Okay, the first debate, we heard that it was donors sent out the command to candidates to take Trump out. That didn't happen, it looked like the network did. Now, the word has gone out that Carly Fiorina has been instructed to take Trump out, given that he made negative comments about her face. They got her on the debate stage, she's a woman. So that's the next thing, that's a prognostication. Carly is there, take Trump out. This is the stuff floating around.
