Savage: Democratic Party's "membership is made up largely of minority blocs ... that are all against the white person"

On his radio show, Michael Savage said, "The Democrat [sic] Party is the minority party. ... Obama is a minority, a half minority at least. The membership is made up largely of minority blocs, the Hispanic caucus and the gay caucus -- caucuses that are all against the white person." Savage also claimed: "Now, the white women generally are not as hard-nosed about things as the white male, and so many white women don't even understand that they're being duped, and they vote for a Democrat, not knowing that they're digging their own grave."

Savage: "America is being overrun by an invasion force from Mexico"

Michael Savage claimed that "America is being overrun by an invasion force from Mexico that'll soon take over the country." After noting a news report stating that immigration, higher birth rates among immigrants, and an aging white population are responsible in part for America's changing demographics, Savage stated: "And you think the gang-banger with baggy pants is going to pay for your retirement, you liberal fools? You think that they're going to pay for your housing in a senior citizens center? You psychotic liberals don't even know you're digging your own grave and throwing lime in there. All that's missing is the worm from the tequila bottle to go with it."

Savage: "Illegal aliens" have "raped and disheveled" the Statue of Liberty

Discussing the Italian government's decision to deploy soldiers on city streets to combat violent crime allegedly committed by illegal immigrants, Michael Savage said: "So they've done there what we need to do here. We need to get our troops out of Iraq and put them on the streets of America to protect us from the scourge of illegal immigrants who are running rampant across America, killing our police for sport, raping, murdering like a scythe across America while the liberal psychos are telling us they come here to work." Savage added: "[Y]ou turn on the cable news, they're covering again a missing child. Not a missing country but a missing child. ... We hear about the rape of a woman, but not about the rape of the Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty is crying, she's been raped and disheveled -- raped and disheveled by illegal aliens."

Savage still claiming autism comments taken out of context, despite his prior reference to "a phony disease"

Referring to <em>Media Matters' </em>documentation of comments in which he called autism "[a] fraud, a racket," Michael Savage said: "They're very happy that they were able to use the poor parents of autistic children to attack me when I in fact have been more supportive of the most vulnerable children in our population than anybody else in the history of radio. That's correct, me, Michael Savage." Savage went on to falsely claim that his comments about autism were taken of context, stating: "So what they did was they took a sound bite out of context and they used the poor parents of autistic children to attack me. That's very clever."

Retroactive context? Talk Radio Network discovers "true context" for Savage's autism "views" in shows that came days <em>after</em> his original comments

Talk Radio Network, which syndicates Michael Savage's radio show, posted on a website a statement asserting that Savage's July 16 comments about autism had been taken "out of context" and purporting to provide "true context" for Savage's "views." The website -- savageonautism.com -- features "20 audio clips of Michael Savage's comments on Autism," which the accompanying statement describes as "a representative sampling of Dr. Savage's views, as well as the applicable issues, in true context." In fact, all 20 of those audio clips are from the July 21 and 22 broadcasts of Savage's show, during which Savage misrepresented his July 16 remarks; they are not "context" for the July 16 remarks.

If Savage was smearing only misdiagnoses of autism, why did he previously call autism itself a "phony disease"?

In a rebroadcast of <em>The Savage Nation</em> that aired on the program July 9, portions of which were previously included in a YouTube clip posted on June 30, Michael Savage acknowledged having called autism "a phony disease." The rebroadcast undermines his claim that when he characterized autism as "[a] fraud, a racket" on July 16, Savage was drawing a distinction between the "truly autistic" and those who have been misdiagnosed.

Michael Savage recast July 16 comments he made about autism in order to claim that he was "take[n] out of context." Savage falsely suggested that his comments distinguished between "the truly autistic" and those he described on July 21 as "the misdiagnosed, the falsely diagnosed, and the outright fakers in the autism field."

On his nationally syndicated radio show, Michael Savage said of the organization he called "the homosexual mafia group <em>Media Matters</em>": "They're a fascist, homo-- goes out of their way to misquote me, take me out of context, and try to get me in trouble with people who love me. I stand by my words. <em>Media Mat</em>-- and that's it. And that's where I'm going to leave it."

Savage on autism: "A fraud, a racket. ... In 99 percent of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out"

On his nationally syndicated radio show, Michael Savage claimed that autism is "[a] fraud, a racket. ... I'll tell you what autism is. In 99 percent of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out. That's what autism is. What do you mean they scream and they're silent? They don't have a father around to tell them, 'Don't act like a moron. You'll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man. Don't sit there crying and screaming, idiot.' "

Savage on California wildfires: "[F]at-hipped women would consult a 75-page manual ... about what to do before the forest fire could even be stopped"

Discussing the California wildfires, Michael Savage said: "The Smokeys that are running around with .45's on their hips, the mean-faced, clipped-haired, fat-hipped women, would consult a 75-page manual and have to call Denver and get an answer in seven weeks about what to do before the forest fire could even be stopped." He also said he "suspects that there are agents of Iran who have set these forest fires to a certain extent."

Savage: Israelis speculated shooting was attack on Olmert because "he is leading them to the gas chamber"

Following a shooting incident that occurred as French President Nicolas Sarkozy was preparing to depart Israel, Michael Savage claimed: "There is speculation that there was an attempt to kill [Israeli Prime Minister Ehud] Olmert because he has sold the country down the river, and he is selling the people to their death -- he is leading them to the gas chamber. He is a -- the equivalent of those who led the Jews into the gas chambers in World War II, according to many Israelis who see the handwriting on the wall."

Michael Savage plays Dead Kennedys song "in some respect for" Sen. Kennedy

On the day it was announced that Sen. Ted Kennedy had been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, nationally syndicated radio host Michael Savage opened his show by interspersing audio of Kennedy singing "Ay Jalisco No Te Rajes" with clips of news reporters discussing Kennedy's diagnosis and audio from <em>Kindergarten Cop</em> in which Arnold Schwarzenegger's character says, "It's not a tumor." Later, Savage played the Dead Kennedys song "California &Uuml;ber Alles" after stating: "The poor guy's been suffering for years, you know? Unfairly he's been accused of alcoholism, but we see now that it was something much more deep-seated. And so, to cut this out in some respect for Ted Kennedy, here's a tune coming at you from the Dead Kennedys. Go ahead and play it, please."

Michael Savage stated that Rev. Rod Parsley, whom Sen. John McCain has reportedly referred to as "a spiritual guide," has made "some inflammatory statements of which I agree with 100 percent." Savage then played clips in which Parsley stated that "America was founded, in part, with the intention of seeing this false religion [Islam] destroyed" and that supporters of same-sex marriage "are seeking to redefine marriage. In other words, they are intending to pervert God's original intention."
