Corsi appeared on show hosted by "9/11 Truth Movement" leader, who said having non-American parents should be disqualification for president

Appearing on the syndicated radio show of Alex Jones -- who claims to be "considered by many to be the grandfather of what has come to be known as the 9/11 Truth Movement" -- Jerome Corsi baselessly claimed that as a child, "Obama got Islamic instruction, and it wasn't mainstream Islamic instruction." Jones asserted that "we should not have anybody as president who -- both their parents aren't Americans," saying "this allows infiltration," later saying of Obama: "He is a ringer, folks. He's meant to take a dive for John McCain. So this is nonpartisan. The facts are in. He will be destroyed in this election."

Wash. Post repeats falsehood about why Casey was denied 1992 convention speaking slot

Echoing a longtime, much-repeated falsehood, The Washington Post asserted that former Pennsylvania Gov. Robert P. Casey Sr. "was denied a speaking slot at Bill Clinton's nominating convention in 1992 because of his opposition to abortion." In fact, others who opposed abortion rights were given speaking roles at the convention, so Casey's opposition to abortion rights alone could not have been the deciding factor in the decision not to give him a speaking role.

Media outlets provide modified, baseless version of oft-repeated falsehood about Casey's denial of speaking slot at the 1992 DNC

Two AP articles claimed that "the late Pennsylvania Gov. Robert P. Casey ... was not given a marquee speaking spot at the 1992 convention because of his anti-abortion views," an assertion echoed in posts on ABC News' Political Radar blog and Mark Halperin's The Page. Each advanced a modified version of the old falsehood, much repeated, that Casey was denied a speaking role at the convention because he opposed abortion rights.

NY Times repeated falsehood about why Casey was denied speaking slot at 1992 Dem convention

A New York Times article echoed the oft-repeated myth that Gov. Bob Casey Sr. was forbidden to speak at the 1992 Democratic convention because he opposed abortion rights. In fact, other Democrats who oppose abortion rights spoke at the 1992 convention and at every convention since then. Moreover, the Times itself reported in 1996 that White House officials "have always said that had [Casey] not declined to endorse Mr. [Bill] Clinton in 1992, he would have been allowed to speak to the convention."

After suggesting Obama was "running for Antichrist," KSFO's Sussman now says if Obama "were on trial for being a Christian ... I think [he] would walk"

While guest-hosting The Lee Rodgers Show, Brian Sussman said: "If Barack Obama were on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence for a jury of his peers to pronounce him guilty? I doubt it. I think Obama would walk." Sussman had previously said of Obama's speech in Berlin, "I could have sworn he was running for Antichrist."

Question for KSFO's Sussman: Did Reagan's self-description as a "citizen ... of the world" make him the Antichrist, too?

KSFO's Brian Sussman said of Sen. Barack Obama's Berlin speech: "As I was watching that speech, I could have sworn he was running for Antichrist." Sussman later added, "He's giving this speech in Europe -- he's talking about us being citizens of the world. I got news for you, dude. I'm not a citizen of the world. I live on this planet, but I'm a citizen of the United States of America." However, in his speech, Obama characterized himself as "a citizen -- a proud citizen of the United States, and a fellow citizen of the world."

O'Reilly called Gore an "evil enabler" for speaking at Netroots Nation, repeatedly compared event to Ku Klux Klan, Nazi Party, and David Duke

Bill O'Reilly used both his radio and TV programs to attack former Vice President Al Gore for delivering a July 19 speech at the Netroots Nation conference, calling Gore an "evil enabler" and repeatedly comparing the event to gatherings by the Ku Klux Klan, Nazi Party, and David Duke. O'Reilly made his attacks on Gore and the Netroots conference after asserting that the blog Daily Kos posted "hateful e-mails" about the Tony Snow. But while O'Reilly repeatedly linked Netroots Nation to Daily Kos, Daily Kos was not an official organizer or sponsor of the Netroots convention.

O'Reilly: "It is not a stretch to say MoveOn is the new Klan"

On his Fox News television program, Bill O'Reilly said, "[Sen. Barack] Obama must condemn organizations like MoveOn and the Daily Kos if he truly wants to run without a race component. These are the people that are dividing Americans along racial lines. It is not a stretch to say MoveOn is the new Klan."

On CNN, Kurtz again falsely claimed Clark "strafed" McCain

On Reliable Sources, Howard Kurtz again falsely claimed that, as Kurtz worded it this time, Sen. John McCain got "strafed by [retired Gen.] Wes Clark over his Vietnam service" during Clark's appearance on Face the Nation, and also said: "I would have bet a sizable sum of money that of all the possible attacks against John McCain, the Democrats would not have gone after his Vietnam War record, which, of course, includes his capture and torture in Hanoi. Well, I was wrong." But Clark neither "strafed" McCain's Vietnam service, nor went "after his Vietnam War record."
