Fox News has aggressively supported a Republican plan to add a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution. However, progressive and conservative experts alike have made clear that a balanced budget amendment would make future recessions worse and damage the current recovery.
In at least 40 instances since the beginning of 2011, conservative media outlets wrongly told consumers that the light bulb efficiency standards scheduled to take effect in 2012 will require them to use compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs).

Fox Business host Gerri Willis made sure her viewers could not fault President Bush for state of the economy.
Asking her viewers who they blamed for "America's jobs crisis," Fox Business offered the following choices:

And according to the results of a June NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, Americans are more likely to hold Bush accountable than President Obama "for the country's current economic conditions."
But Fox viewers can't hold Bush accountable if they don't have the option.
