On his radio program, Michael Savage labeled as "vermin" and "scum" Iraqi civilians who have accused U.S. Marines of slaughtering innocent civilians in Haditha, Iraq, and claimed that the Marines being held in connection with the alleged Haditha massacre are "POWs [prisoners of war] ... being held in America by their own government." Furthermore, Savage attacked Time magazine reporter Tim McGirk, CNN host Wolf Blitzer, and Rep. Jack Murtha (D-PA), who have commented on the alleged massacre, saying that they belong in "shackles."
On his radio program, Michael Savage read from a New York Times article about the arrest of 17 Canadian residents on charges that they were planning a terrorist attack, noting that one of the suspects is a "well-known and fiery figure ... in the Toronto area's South Asian community" and the imam of a mosque. Savage then declared: "Whenever you see the word 'South Asian,' substitute the word for 'terrorist,' or reference to 'terrorist.' " Savage then reclassified the word "imam," stating, "that's another code word for trouble-making bum who should have been thrown out of the country."
On his radio show, Michael Savage declared that former President Jimmy Carter is a "Jew-hater" and a "war criminal" who "is like Hitler" because of his criticism of Israeli policies in the West Bank. Savage also called Carter a "communist, anti-American, anti-Semitic bastard."

On April 11, radio host Michael Savage responded to a Media Matters for America item posted earlier that day by claiming that he had not referred to illegal immigrants as "vermin" as Media Matters contended, but rather "the leadership behind" the illegal immigrants. Savage declared: "[Y]eah, I would say that vermin is an accurate description, Mr. Media Matters." But on his April 10 show, Savage used the pronoun "they" -- who are "not even entitled to vote or be here" -- whose antecedent was unmistakably "vermin. In the same broadcast, he also said that politicians who continue to support the "vermin" may be "picking the vegetables."
Michael Savage repeatedly called on his listeners to "burn the Mexican flag" in opposition to illegal immigrants. Savage claimed that the only way to combat the onslaught of illegal immigrants is through protest and asked his audience to "[b]urn a Mexican flag for America, burn a Mexican flag for those who died that you should have a nationality and a sovereignty, go out in the street and show you're a man, burn 10 Mexican flags, if I could recommend it. Put one in the window upside down and tell them to go back where they came from!"
Michael Savage repeatedly characterized Brokeback Mountain, a film about a romantic relationship between two cowboys, as "Bareback Mounting."
