The right-wing media is grasping for coherence in its attempts to portray military action in Libya as "Obama's Iraq."
The Las Vegas Review-Journal published a lengthy excerpt from Dick Morris' and Eileen McGann's book 2010: Take Back America: A Battle Plan that uses numerous falsehoods and distortions to attack Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
In a New York Post column, Dick Morris and Eileen McGann wrote that President Obama should "[r]efund to the Treasury the $500 billion in TARP funds repaid by the banks." But according to the Treasury Department, Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) repayments have totaled $165 billion as of January 6, a third of the figure offered by Morris and McGann.
Dick Morris and Eileen McGann falsely claimed in the New York Post that President Obama said "he opposes a congressional investigation into the Fort Hood massacre" and that Obama "is doing his best to stop Congress from finding out why these warnings went unheeded." In fact, in his November 14 weekly address Obama said "there should" be "inquiries by Congress."
