Before there was any evidence of who was responsible for the terrorist bombing and shooting in Norway, mainstream media outlets rushed to finger Muslims and Muslim groups as potential perpetrators and listed grievances that radical Muslims had against the country. Norwegian officials have since said that a non-Muslim was responsible for the terrorist acts.
Following the terrorist attacks in Norway by anti-Muslim fundamentalist Anders Behring Breivik, the right-wing media have leapt to defending their own Islamophobic response to the attacks, often by making absurd claims like calling Breivik a "jihadist."
As if her back catalog of tasteless Nazi references and smears of Muslims weren't enough, Pam Geller has further distanced herself from reality: She has written a blog post minimizing the severity of Serbian war crimes.
Instead of admitting their terrible mistake, the dhimmi Western powers are digging in their heels and further prosecuting the Serbs in their sisyphean and thankless efforts to stop Islamic imperialism.
Look, there are no heroes in the Bosnian conflict, but the Muslim atrocities were far worse. The Serbs dared to fight. That's what this is all about. As Gorin so succinctly put it, "They are guilty of ..... daring to answer war with war." The question is, why would the Western powers send in troops and pave the way for a militant Islamic state in the heart of Europe? The catastrophic consequences have not yet manifested themselves, but they will impact the geopolitical landscape in what promises to be a bloody 21st century.
Right-wing media have claimed that President Obama attacked Israel in his recent restatement of U.S. policy that a peace agreement between Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 borders with agreed upon swaps. These criticisms follow a long series of falsehoods, distortions, and smears advanced by the right-wing media to claim that Obama and his administration are anti-Israel or even anti-Semitic.
Few members of the right-wing, fever swamp blogosphere have reacted to President Obama's speech on the Middle East with as visceral hatred as Pamela Geller, the Islamophobic blogger of Atlas Shrugs. As we have repeatedly noted, Geller has an almost unrivaled history of inflammatory claims, and very frequently, she invokes imagery of Nazism and the Holocaust to support her claims. Responding to Obama's opposition to Jewish settlement growth in disputed territories, for example, Geller wrote that "Jews refuse to get on Obama's Trains." She's called Democrats "National Socialists," a reference to the Nazi's political party, and posted a photo of then-Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan, who is Jewish, photoshopped to look like she was wearing a Nazi uniform.
But despite her history of accusing anyone who disagrees with her as being a "jihadist," an "anti-Semite" or suggesting that they are modern-day Nazis, Geller still manages to find ways to ramp up her rhetoric. On May 23, Geller reacted to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) by creating a non-existent battle between Obama and Netanyahu. But even more insane is this line in her post on her blog Atlas Shrugged (emphasis added):
Netanyahu had to defend his tiny nation. Netanyahu had to speak against Obama's judenrein '67 border remark, and in doing so, galvanized the Left to deride him. But Netanyahu was completely painted into a corner. He had to defend the existential right of Israel to exist. So this evening, everyone was expecting Bibi to cave to the pressure of the media in the U.S., to praise Obama and kiss messiah's ring.
I admit: I didn't recognize the word at first. According to the Jewish Virtual Library -- a project of The Simon Wiesenthal Center -- Judenrein was a Nazi term which translates to "'Cleansed of Jews,' denoting areas where all Jews had been either murdered or deported."
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised by the lows to which Geller will stoop, since just last week Geller said the Middle East speech was part of "Obama's Final Solution." But it's worth keeping this in mind the next time a "credible" news agency like Fox brings her on the air and validates her insanity.
The right-wing media have reacted to President Obama's speech to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) by complaining either he "flip-flop[ped]" or "double[d] down" on his previous comments or both. However, in his speech to AIPAC, Obama simply reiterated his earlier call that negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians should be "based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps."
In a May 23 post on her blog, Atlas Shrugs, Pamela Geller attempted to explain away applause given to President Obama during his May 22 speech at the AIPAC Policy Conference, claiming, "AIPAC is generally an orgy of applause and cheering ... [m]ention that grilled chicken will be served in the cafe downstairs and you'll get a huge round of applause." Geller further claimed AIPAC members "simply do not comprehend what is being done to them" and compared them to "German Jews." From Atlas Shrugs:
Much is being made of the applause that Obama received at AIPAC. I think this needs to be explained, or at least put into some context.
AIPAC is generally an orgy of applause and cheering for anyone and everyone who addresses the appreciative audience. It is the one place where Jews can congregate and hear wonderful, exultant praise of Israel (outside of the constant campaign of anti-Israel propaganda). And the AIPAC rank and file love the respite from the lies and the smears. They will cheer anything. Seriously. Mention that grilled chicken will be served in the cafe downstairs and you'll get a huge round of applause. 25,000 carrots had to be brought to garnish the salads to feed 10,000 attendees. That, too, gets a hand. This is a happy group.
It takes some people a very long time to figure out that they have been kicked in the teeth, and that they are getting kicked in the teeth. It seems impossible, but Jews simply do not comprehend what is being done to them, and what is being done to Israel. It is as though they are liberals/socialists first, Democrats second .... and Jews dead last. German Jews thought themselves Germans before Jews .....
In a world that did not perceive Jews as Jews, first, last and always, this might not be such a major intellectual failing, but in this world, it is suicidal. They simply do not comprehend what they see, when they look down and see someone sawing off their leg with a dull saw.
Right-wing media have launched a torrent of attacks on President Obama for saying that "[w]e believe the borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps, so that secure and recognized borders are established for both states." In fact, Obama's policy is in line with statements made by former President George W. Bush, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, and others.
In a May 19 post to her Atlas Shrugs blog on President Obama's Middle East speech, Pamela Geller said Obama was dooming Israel to "Auschwitz borders" and "Obama's final solution." From her post:
The "Made in the USA" President proved today, yet again, how carefully he listened and committed to the Islamic Jew-hatred taught to him in his quranic classes while growing up Muslim in Indonesia, the largest Muslim country in the world. His call to return to the '67 borders, a return to Auschwitz borders, is a call to jihad. It will incite and inflame the Muslim street.
Obama's foreign policy mimics that of the suicide bomber.
The idea that Israel must take the gas pipe, be reduced to tiny size by this tiny man, while the Muslims have given nothing, negotiated nothing, but instead, waged war and consolidated power between Fatah and Hamas (whose charter calls for the annihilation of Israel), is Obama's final solution.
I pray Netanyahu tells him to kish meir en tuchas.
Conservative media figures have criticized President Obama's upcoming visit to Ground Zero after the killing of Osama bin Laden as a "political victory lap." Glenn Beck called the planned trip "disgusting," "obscene," and "grotesque."
On April 27 Fox Business' Eric Bolling hosted Pam Geller on his show Follow The Money. Geller -- who has dabbled in the wildest conspiracy theories involving President Obama's birth (such as the one in which Malcolm X is actually Obama's father) -- questioned the authenticity of Obama's long-form birth certificate.
Not even two days later Geller literally labeled Obama a "bastard."
In an April 29 post on her blog, Atlas Shrugs, Pam Geller said "President Obama is indeed a bastard, literally and figuratively." Geller based her post on the recent release of 1960's immigration records of Obama's father. Fox Nation has also highlighted Obama's father's records in an attempt to attack Obama without, of course, acknowledging that Obama himself addressed his father's shortcomings in his book Dreams from My Father.
After President Obama released the long-form version of his birth certificate, members of the conservative media declared Donald Trump the "winner" for having pushed birther theories so intently. However, these conservative media figures ignored the fact that the long-form birth certificate made Trump's previous claims that Obama's birth certificate "was missing" and that Obama might not even "have a birth certificate" look completely ridiculous.
Right-wing media have responded to the release of President Obama's original Hawaii birth certificate by embracing conspiracy theories that the document is fake or has been altered.
Right-wing media responded to the release of President Obama's long-form birth certificate by attacking the president and claiming that certain questions surrounding the document remain unanswered. Below is a sampling of the early attacks by conservative media following the release of Obama's long-form birth certificate.
Since Glenn Beck announced he would be ending his daily show with Fox News, conservative bloggers have reacted with a mixture of sorrow, skepticism, and, of course, conspiracy theories about why his show is ending.
