In an appearance on Fox's America's Newsroom, former Sen. Alfonse D'Amato (R-NY) claimed that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) would lead to "droves of hospitals" shutting down, though neglected to disclose that his firm has taken in nearly $1 million lobbying on behalf of New York-area hospitals since 2007.
While discussing the ACA, D'Amato claimed that "Obamacare is creating immense distortions in the market, and you're going to see hospitals -- that's my prediction -- droves of hospitals closing down. They're just not going to be able to make it."
