Like Clockwork: Dow Drops, Rush Labels It “Obama's Market”

By Oliver Willis

Rush Limbaugh began his show discussing the Gulf of Mexico oil spill again, arguing that President Obama didn't actually care about it or other important matters, but instead viewed them as inconveniences getting between Obama and his plan to transform American society. Limbaugh said that he didn't feel like he was in his country anymore, and that the Obama was relying on a natural disaster to advance his agenda.

Limbaugh moved on to immigration and the NBA's Phoenix Suns' decision to wear “Los Suns” jerseys in their playoff game last night to demonstrate Arizona's new immigration law. Limbaugh claimed that the media was excited that the Suns won something they would use to say the Suns were “sticking it” to him. He then asked if the officials gave everyone at the game “amnesty”. Limbaugh accused Obama of playing the race card by discussing his misgivings about the new Arizona law, then asked, “What can we do for Arizona in this? Maybe people need to schedule conventions there.” He also found time to repeat the absurd claim that “2,000 people a year are killed by illegal aliens.”

Discussing the planned construction of a mosque near the site of the former World Trade Center, Limbaugh said that “apparently” accused terrorist Khalid Shaikh Mohammed would not “have an impossible time” getting a “sympathetic jury.” Responding to comments from Al Sharpton about income inequality, Limbaugh lectured him on “what Martin Luther King stood for.” As the stock market dropped several hundred points, Limbaugh celebrated, labeling the fall “Obama's market” and “a big effin' deal.”
