Fox Responds To Obama's Speech On Inequality By Crying "Class Warfare," "Socialism"

Fox responded to President Obama's December 6 speech on inequality in America by once again accusing Obama of engaging in class warfare as well as promoting socialism and -- in the words of Peter Johnson Jr. -- "smooth jazz liberation theology."

Fox Responds To Obama's Speech: "Class Warfare" ...

Huddy: "Will [Obama's] Strategy Of Class Warfare Really Work?" During the December 7 broadcast of Fox News' Fox & Friends, guest co-host Juliet Huddy, teasing a segment on Obama's speech, asked, "Will his strategy of class warfare really work?" [Fox News, Fox & Friends, 12/7/11, via Media Matters]

Fox's Johnson: Obama's Speech Was "A Smooth Jazz Liberation Theology Speech." Later during the December 7 Fox & Friends, Huddy asked Fox News legal analyst Peter Johnson Jr., "So, is [Obama's speech] a continuation of the president's plan to promote class warfare?" Johnson responded in part by claiming that Obama's speech was an example of "smooth jazz liberation theology." Hannity: "Sticking With Tradition, President Obama Resorted To Using Some Good Ole-Fashioned Class-Warfare Rhetoric." During the December 6 broadcast of Fox News' Hannity, host Sean Hannity introduced a segment by claiming that "President Obama resorted to using some good ole-fashioned class-warfare rhetoric" in his speech. Later on the show, Fox Business host Stuart Varney stated, "I'm listening to [Obama's speech] very carefully, and it reminds me of a British socialist, frankly, from the 1940s, 1950s." Greg Gutfeld: "President Obama Has 1,000 Words For Class Warfare." During the December 6 broadcast of Fox News' The Five, co-host Greg Gutfeld said that Obama's speech was a "sugarcoated speech on class warfare" and that Obama has "1,000 words for class warfare." Dick Morris: Obama's Speech Promoted A "Collectivist European Socialist Philosophy." On the December 7 edition of Fox News' Fox & Friends, Fox News contributor Dick Morris claimed that Obama promoted a "collectivist European socialist philosophy" in his speech. Fox Guest Chris Plante: "We're Seeing The Return Of Nationalism Combined With Socialism." During a discussion of Obama's speech on the December 6 broadcast of Fox Business' Lou Dobbs Tonight, guest Chris Plante claimed that "we're seeing the return of nationalism combined with socialism. Fox Regularly Attacks Obama's Speeches, Initiatives As "Class Warfare"

Obama's Debt-Reduction Plan: "Class Warfare." In September, in response to Obama's deficit-reduction plan, which called for increasing taxes on the wealthy, Fox responded by accusing Obama of engaging in class warfare. [Media Matters, 9/19/11]

Obama's Jobs Bill: "Class Warfare." Following Obama's September speech outlining his jobs plan, Fox figures accused him of engaging "class warfare" and "soak[ing] the rich." [Media Matters, 9/13/11]

Obama's Plan To Eliminate Tax Breaks On Corporate Jets: "Class Warfare." In June, Fox figures including Lou Dobbs and Eric Bolling responded to Obama's call to eliminate tax breaks on corporate jets by accusing Obama of "class warfare." [Media Matters, 6/30/11]
