Minneapolis radio host Baker on Pelosi's response to Wall Street crisis: “Another reason why it's very rare to find a woman worthy of serving in political office”

On his radio show, Chris Baker stated in response to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's comments on the Wall Street crisis: “Another reason why it's very rare to find a woman worthy of serving in political office.” Moments before, Baker said, referring to Pelosi, “Get another facelift, lady.”

On the September 17 broadcast of his Minneapolis radio show, while discussing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-CA) reported response of “No” when asked whether “Democrats bear some of the responsibility regarding the current crisis on Wall Street,” Chris Baker stated: “Yesterday they ask her, 'Do Democrats have any responsibility here?' And what does she say? 'No.' Another reason why it's very rare to find a woman worthy of serving in political office.” Moments before, Baker said, referring to Pelosi, “Get another facelift, lady.”

As Media Matters for America noted, on the September 5 broadcast of his radio show, Baker asserted that the Code Pink protesters who interrupted Sen. John McCain's acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention on September 4 “ought to have all their tubes tied.” Code Pink describes itself as “a women-initiated grassroots peace and social justice movement working to end the war in Iraq, stop new wars, and redirect our resources into healthcare, education and other life-affirming activities.”

The Chris Baker Show airs on Minneapolis' 100.3 KTLK-FM, owned by Clear Channel Communications.

From the September 17 edition of KTLK's The Chris Baker Show:

CALLER: It seems like everything is backwards here. We have a zero-tolerance policy for second-graders, but we don't have one for companies who fail, and because we'll just keep giving them more and more chances, and it --

BAKER: Right.

CALLER: Both of these things, the schools and these companies, then become a hook -- taxpayers -- a hook for these things, either both ways. But I just think that's kind of interesting.

BAKER: Well, no, sir. It's not interesting, it's sad. It's sad and it's frightening. These politicians -- these are not leaders. These are nothing more than puppets and they're pageant winners. And this is what you get when you elect pageant winners: no critical thinking, no adherence to the Constitution of the United States. Forget about individual liberty and economic freedom. Economic freedom comes with a good side and a bad side. The good side: You make money and, hopefully, God willing, you get to keep some of it. The bad side: Your business might suck and you might make really dumb decisions and you might fail.

And Nancy Pelosi, that -- get another facelift, lady. She runs -- yesterday, they ask her, “Do Democrats have any responsibility here?” And what does she say? “No.” Another reason why it's very rare to find a woman worthy of serving in political office.
