Olbermann awarded Savage “the bronze” in “Worst Person” segment for claiming Dem victory “could lead to the break up of the United States of America”

On the October 17 edition of MSNBC's Countdown, host Keith Olbermann awarded syndicated radio host Michael Savage “the bronze” in his nightly “Worst Person in the World” segment for stating, as Media Matters for America documented, that a Democratic victory in November's midterm elections "'could lead to the break up of the United States of America, the way the Soviet Union broke up,' and that California is already 'in the hands of the far-left homosexual mafia.'" Savage last appeared on the “Worst Person” segment on October 11 for claiming former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright is a “traitor” who “should be tried for treason, and when she is found guilty of treason, she should be hung,” as Media Matters also noted.

According to Talkers magazine, The Savage Nation attracts more than 8 million listeners a week and is heard on more than 300 stations nationwide, making it the third most listened to talk radio show in the nation, behind The Rush Limbaugh Show and The Sean Hannity Show.

From the October 17 edition of MSNBC's Countdown:

OLBERMANN: The bronze to Michael Weiner-Savage, explaining to his audience that if the Democrats win the midterms, “It could lead to the breakup of the United States of America the way the Soviet Union broke up,” and that California is already “in the hands of the far-left homosexual mafia.”

Mike, we'll let Governor Schwarzenegger in on that last part. And by the way, are these drug flashbacks or schizophrenia, or are you just a moron?
