Taranto questioned Dems' patriotism twice; then declared, "[I]t's presumptuous to question anyone's patriotism"
Wall Street Journal OpinionJournal.com editor James Taranto has questioned Democrats' patriotism twice in recent months, as Media Matters for America has twice documented . Yet in his June 21 "Best of the Web " column, Taranto declared that to question anyone's patriotism would be "presumptuous." Taranto wrote, "Certainly there's nothing unpatriotic about criticizing your government or its policies. And since love of country is a matter of the heart, it's presumptuous to question anyone's patriotism."
