Fox Hypes Tea Party Candidacy Of Obama's "Second Cousin, Once Removed" Who Thinks Obama Is "Destroying America"October 28, 2013 4:59 PM EDT ››› OLIVER WILLIS
Fox News provided airtime to Milton Wolf, a self-described tea party conservative who was billed as "Obama's second cousin, once removed," to promote his campaign and ask for donations to finance his challenge to Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS) in the Republican primary.
Appearing on The Real Story, Wolf told host Gretchen Carlson he was running to stop Obama from "destroying America." He accused Obama of failing to understand American exceptionalism, and attacked the Affordable Care Act, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, and his primary opponent. At the end of the interview Wolf gave out his website address and told Carlson that "your viewers can contribute, can get on our website, and they can help us get this job done." Laughing, Carlson told him, "you may be a doctor but you're a good politician already, you know how to talk."
Wolf's run for office comes after he's been propped up by conservative media outlets for years. Since at least 2010, Wolf has been active on the conservative circuit using his relationship with President Obama's family in order to promote himself. On his website, Wolf writes that his mother, Margaret McCurry Wolf, was a cousin of Obama's grandmother, Madelyn Dunham.
On his official blog, Wolf describes himself as "the Tea Partier inside Barack Obama's own family. He may, in fact, be the only Tea Partier the President actually knows." Wolf claims that he is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist and has repeatedly attacked Obama, particularly on the issue of health care.
According to the blurb for his ebook, First, Do No Harm: The President's Cousin Explains Why His Hippocratic Oath Requires Him to Oppose ObamaCare, Wolf met Obama "for the first time in May 2010" which "marked the beginning of a new phase in this all-American family feud."
In 2011 FoxNews.com published a column by Wolf where he promoted his book and accused Obama of "tearing down the finest health care system in the world and turning America into a European-style social welfare state."
Wolf is a columnist for the Washington Times where he is identified as "a radiologist and President Obama's cousin." In one column Wolf compared President Obama to King George III and argued that "the intrusion, restriction and outright harassment that our government subjects us to today is far beyond what the colonists faced from their tyrannical king." In another, he urged conservatives to "lock and load" and take on the establishment of the Republican Party by "taking a page out of Sarah Palin's playbook."
Wolf recently contributed a column to Breitbart.com attacking Sen. Roberts for his past support of Sec. Sebelius, who is the former governor of Kansas.
