MARK LEVIN (HOST): So my view, and I don't know what Johnson's view is, you're gonna have to shut down the government. It's been shut down over 20 times by Republicans and Democrats. And no, Washington insiders, and no, Washington ruling class media, we haven't lost elections as a result. Reagan won massive landslides. And even after the Cruz filibuster on Obamacare, remember how they destroyed or tried to what he was doing and his reputation, starting with the pages of the Wall Street Journal and McConnell and McCain and all the rest, remember all that? We added seats to the Senate. We added seats to the Senate.
These people are afraid of conservatism. They're afraid of undoing some of what they've created. And if you want Susan Collins and you want these Mike Simpson types and David Joyce types and all the rest to lead the Republican Party, not only will we be a minority forever like we were under pre--Newt Gingrich Houses of Representatives, like we were for decades in the Senate before Reagan came along, before Gingrich came along, two conservatives, then support these people.
