Media quote GOP claim that Obama reversed Iraq policy, without noting Obama's prior statements
In covering Sen. Barack Obama’s comments, “When I go to Iraq and have a chance to talk to some of the commanders on the ground, I’m sure I’ll have more information and will continue to refine my policies,” the media have reported Republican claims that Obama reversed himself. In fact, Obama has said for months and on multiple occasions that he would set Iraq war policy in consultation with military commanders. Read more

Fox News airs altered photos of NY Times reporters
Fox & Friends co-hosts Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade labeled New York Times reporter Jacques Steinberg and editor Steven Reddicliffe "attack dogs," claiming that Steinberg's June 28 article on the "ominous trend" in Fox News' ratings was a "hit piece." During the segment, Fox News featured photos of Steinberg and Reddicliffe that appeared to have been digitally altered -- the journalists' teeth had been yellowed, their facial features exaggerated, and portions of Reddicliffe's hair moved further back on his head.
