O'Reilly Fails To Get Hume Criticism of Schieffer

Great moment on The O'Reilly Factor Monday when Bill O'Reilly tried to criticize Bob Schieffer of Face The Nation for mistakenly stating the new Arizona immigration law allows police to demand immigration papers from anyone.

O'Reilly then asked Fox News Commentator Brit Hume to essentially rip into Schieffer for making the mistake. Hume admitted that he himself and several other news people have made the same mistake: “He's in good company.”

Hume then went on to praise Schieffer as a credible news person and essentially counter O'Reilly's efforts to paint Schieffer's comments as being biased or aimed at slanting the facts.

“There is no chance that he would purposely misstate the law,” Hume said, later adding “Bob's mistake on this is one that has been made by many in the media ... One that I have made myself.”

When O'Reilly accused the three major networks of “not being honest about the news anymore because they have an agenda and the agenda is to protect President Obama,” Hume fired back: “I don't think that's what Bob was up to.”
